The Apple Family

I never thought that I would actually buy Apple. Everything all started when hubs wanted the iPod. Hubs had been asking to get an iPod for the longest time and since we both own mp3 players I didn't think that we needed the iPod (if you asked me the iPod was a total waste of money). I finally decided to give in for I think his birthday.

Lasting moments

I am really going to try harder to update my blog this year. To begin my first meal for the new year hubs brought me to have dim sum(no picture coz we were too hungry).

I don't have the perfect hubby and yes we do argue here and there but at times I think mu hub can be the sweetest person toe. Just now I forgot to take my water bottle so I texted him to take it up for me since he's not made his way up yet. Unfortunately he didt get my msg till he got up and I was actually ready to go back downstairs to take the bottle my wonderful hubby actually went downstairs to take my bottle for me. <_>

Another incident was two weeks ago when I got up in the middle of the night and could not sleep because hubs was snoring. I would wake him up but a few seconds later we would fall back asleep and continue snoring! Finally I was so frustrated I woke him up and told him I could not sleep plus I had to work the next day so inwas getting really irritated! He was so sweet to promise to sit up and not fall asleep until I sleep *_*!! I thougt that was super sweet of him! Well he did fall asleep shortly after I did but je was still sitting up when I got up for work the next morning.

I really think that some of these sweet moments deserve a recognition and I appreciate it! Thank u so much hubby! I am glad I have u in my life..love u lots..xoxo

Sick Hubby

I bathed Milo this evening and was going to get ready to bath after that when hubby came home and asked for tylenol. He said he had a massive headache and he headed to shower and quickly lay in bed. Well I wanted to go eat Mexican food today because it's been almost two weeks since we last ate Mexican food so I am missing it. I am assuming that he's not going to want to go out because if it was me I would not want to either and I would not want him to go out and eat with me just because he knows that I want to (he's done that many times before even though he's not feeling well or in a lot of pain).

While he was taking his nap I decided to slowly take my shower and he still didn't feel better. No choice but to go rummage my refrigerator and eat left overs. Hubby made some chili on Sunday so I had some of that and some homemade buns that I made yesterday which I regret for not trying this recipe earlier and making more!

I hope he feels well soon because he's going to have to fly back to his parents place next week and if he's sick I'm afraid that they might think he has swine flu and not allow him to get in the plane. I've already boiled Lo Hon Ko and Honey Dates and made him bring some; I've also been forcing him to eat vitamin C every night. Hopefully he'll eventually feel better! I just don't want him to contaminate me with the darn virus!

Should I be happy?

I've been thinking about changing my cell phone plan for quite some time now. I want to change my plan to get the internet so that I can use internet on the go and also use black berry messenger with my friends. Hub's has been thinking of changing my plan for me since he knows I want the internet but I told him I should just wait till my contract ends because I would have to pay $200 plus dollars to cancel my current contract. Well since my Birthday is around the corner the hubs thought that he would surprise me on the day of my birthday with a change contract. He changed my contract so I can have unlimited minutes, text and internet. Wooohooooo...I was happy but then it makes me cringe when I think about the cancellation fee that we're going to have to cough out!

I asked hubs why didn't he discuss with me before changing plans and his answer was he didn't need too...0_0 I know he just wants me to have internet on my phone since he knows I want them..Like hubs said oh well is just once and no I didn't grumble at him :P

I guess I'll be using my cell phone even more now. I'm already using my cell phone to do many things having the internet will just make me make use of my phone even more. I wonder if I should ask hubs for another new phone? (I don't think so because I just got my phone about 6 months ago and hubby's phone is so warn out and has not been changed for a year now so I think he would change his phone first).

Deciding on what to cook

Does anyone out there have any problems on thinking what to cook for dinner every night? I have problems most of the time thinking what to cook for dinner. When I have craving for something it is easier because then I'll know what I should cook if not hubby is no help at all most of the time and me I'm just not that picky. I know a lot of people have a menu/schedule on what they will eat 3 meals a day but I'm not able to do that because the hubs and I change our mind quite frequently. I can tell the hub that I'm making this or that for dinner and when dinner comes he tells me he doesn't feel like having that *slap head* just like a little kid! Some days I have no problem just whipping up something but this two weeks every since the hubs been sick I just run out of ideas what I want to make for dinner. I know that he doesn't have much appetite and I don't want to cook too heaty food for him (like fried/grill/bake) but there is only so much food you can cook and he'll eat.
Monday we had leftovers from Sunday which consist of rice and curry chicken. Tuesday we had soup and Wednesday we had steak on the grill with potatoes. Today I am not sure what I want to make!Hubby suggested salad which I have lettuce in the refrigerator but I am think he might change his mind when he gets back. I don't really want to eat salads lately so even if he wants salad tonight I would be eating other thing which most likely means instant noodles if I don't think of anything to cook.
Days when we just say ok we don't know what to eat let's just eat out. There is the problem of where to eat! We'll discuss and think about it until we are fed up and go back to the same old place again!I'm just wondering how everyone else out there decided where or what to eat everyday? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Productive but tired weekend

We started our Friday night tearing out carpets so that the hubs can tile the floor that weekend. Saturday morning we attended Uncle Richie's mom's wake/funeral which was supposed to be at 9am but we got there at about 9:30am but it was no big deal because apart from Uncle Richie and Aunt L there was only a couple of people there meaning even her own children was late for her wake/funeral. Everyone got there at about 10:30am because the funeral was at 11am. It was a nice but lively service (Southern Baptist Church). When everything was said and done it was almost 1:30pm. I've never met Uncle Richie's mom before that but as a sign of respect we felt that we needed to attend to funeral. Uncle Richie didn't mind if we didn't attend the funeral but I'm brought up to attend because some how we should at least go for Aunt L to make sure there is a representative from her side of the family. SIL has seen his mom and family member but was not there which I find it weird but then we are brought up differently so I'm not sure if it's normal.
After the funeral service we (Uncle Richie, Aunt L, Hubby and I) decided to head over to Babins for lunch. The food was pretty good and the price was a little higher not the usual casual price but it was not outrages. We were so hungry by the time we arrived at Babins hence stuffing our face with food. Everyone came home to take a nap but hubs just lay around playing on line. When I woke up from our nap we hung out a little while longer and started tiling the floor. We got quite a lot done and called it good at about 9pm. Uncle Richie and Aunt L came over for a little bit and asked if we could watch the dogs while they were gone on Sunday night (They were suppose to go Mexico but had to cancel obviously)because they wanted to go out of town for a night. I don't mind watching (basically just letting them out do their business and let them run around for an hour or so before locking two of them up) the dogs as there is nothing much to do just making sure they are fine and they have food and water.
Sunday morning we got up ate and started cleaning the tile we laid from the night before. Then hubs took out the last bit of the carpet in the living room while I went to the store to buy some groceries. When I came home hubby was done cleaning and clearing out that section. We (him mostly because all I did was pass him the tile) started laying the tile and was done at about 5:30pm. I quickly made dinner and he finished up the mortar he had by cutting some corners that isn't tiled yet. We then washed up, showered and decided to make a trip to Starbuck with the dogs at about 9:30pm. Hubby wanted his double chocolate chip frappuccino so I suggested we drive to Starbucks with the dogs just to go for a drive. Everyone had fun just taking a short drive. Somehow we didn't get to bed till midnight.

It's been a tiring weekend for us moreover hubby's still sick. He's been swamp with work because one of the guys at work is out with a knee injury so the guys has to cover his area too. He's been so wiped out that I feel so sorry for him. I was saying that I barely did anything and I'm so wiped out I can imagine how the hubby is feeling plus being sick. I think we need to go out of town somewhere to just relax. We are planning to go somewhere but I want to do it when is cooler so that the dogs can come with us. I don't want to plan on going anywhere this coming weekend although it'll be a long weekend because of labor day but I'm pretty sure it'll be pack everywhere and is still hot out so we decided that we'll go later. Hopefully we'll go somewhere and rewind real soon. We need a vacation bad!

So how was your weekend?Hopefully it was more relaxing than ours.

Paranoid

I've not been really worried about the H1N1 virus every since the commotion started. I started freaking out about H1N1 virus when the hubs became sick and have been sick for more than 3 weeks. Coincidentally a guy that works in the same company with hubs was diagnosed with H1N1 virus. He was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and the had to be put in ICU because he was so very sick. It's been almost 2 weeks and he's now still in ICU and had to be put in coma (I'm not sure the reason why) after being diagnosed positive with H1N1 virus. Another guy hubby works with daughter was just tested positive for H1N1 virus two days ago so when Aunt L heard that the hubs was sick she made sure that he went to see the doc ASAP because she was worried that hubs might have the H1N1.

So when I was waiting at the pharmacy for our prescriptions to be filled I went ahead and walk around the store too. I quickly bought 3 bottles of the antibacterial wipes. I have a bottle of hand sanitizer in my purse and also a bottle sitting on my Kitchen counter. I am thinking I should buy a few more bottles to put it around the house. I didn't dare to buy a few more bottles yesterday when I was at the pharmacy because I was afraid that everyone might say that I'm paranoid moreover I bought the wipes already so I figured it would enough meantime.

Now we have H3N8 virus. This virus has nothing to do with humans but dogs. Younger and older dogs can die if they are get this virus. I just heard about this in the news this past few nights. They said that as long as the dogs don't have any contact with other dogs they should be fine but if us human has any contact with other dogs outside we might be able to bring back the virus and when we touch our dogs they might be able to get the virus. We have been thinking of taking the dogs to the dog park I guess now the dogs is not going anywhere anymore. I don't want to take the risk of getting them sick. The solution to this problem is taking them in to the vet to get shots but I don't want to have to put them both into this torture.

The wipes and the sanitizer will work real great. We are going to have to wipe our hands with the wipes or use the sanitizer when we get home after we go out. Hopefully this method will keep any virus out of my house! Do you reckon that I'm paranoid to stock up all the antibacterial wipes? I feel that this is better safe than sorry.

Fun Filled Day? NOPE

My skin flares up pretty bad once in a while with acne. I've been meaning to see a dermatologist for quite some time now. I've been complaining but not do anything for a long time and finally Uncle Richie and hubby made me make an appointment to see the dermatologist. The first one I called that Aunt L goes to will be going to war soon so I had to look for another one. We went on our insurance website and found a few so I called and made an appointment. That was two months ago. I was finally able to see the dermatologist after waiting this long and was actually getting excited because I hope that he can help me with my acne.

On the other hand, hubby's been sick since for quite some time now. I initially made an appointment for him to go see a doctor the first week of next month because we wanted to get a referral so he could do some test to see if he had sleep apnea. Anyway since he was coughing so bad I was freaking out that it might be H1N1 so I called again to bring forward the appointment to Friday because that's when he has a little time since he's busy at work. This morning I got a text from Aunt L asking if the hubs is still not feeling well. I told her that he's still not feeling well and this few days is getting worst but I've already scheduled him to see a doctor on Friday. Aunt L and his other bosses at work were freaked out because they are afraid that he might have H1N1 too and she immediately told me to reschedule his appointment and see if hubs could go in today if not he should go to urgent care to see what's wrong with him. So I had to call the doctor's office again hoping that they could reschedule him for today and thankfully they had openings.

My appointment was at 10:45am and his appointment was at 10am. I was not able to go to the appointment with him because I needed to leave the house by 10am (thankfully I did because that place was a cluster!construction every where and limited parking) to get to my appointment on time. I could not reschedule because I don't know when would I be able to get in again if I did(when I was at the dermatologist office I heard October!). When I finally able to meet the dermatologist I think then spend less than 10 minutes with me after I waited for him for god knows how long..argghh...He seems pretty nice and everything but I just felt like he's a freaky nerdy looking type however he's still nice and I should not judge him :P (says hubby). Anyway I am not sure what to think about him. He told me to tell him a little about myself and he didn't even ask me what product or make up I'm using. He just prescribed me some topical solution and recommended Sun block for my face because I asked him to. I am not sure whether he's that good at his job that he just needs to look at me and prescribed me the solution or that he's just not that competent. What ever it is hubs and Uncle Richie thinks that I should use the topical solution (I think I've used something this before when I was in Malaysia but different brand) so I guess I'll just wait and see what happens.

Hubby on the other hand thankfully did not have H1N1 he however has bronchitis. The doctor prescribed him some strong antibiotic and inhaler (like for asthma). I guess the doctor is not worried about the hubs getting H1N1 at all. Hopefully the medications will help me heal faster. I went to the Chinese Herb Store last Sunday after Dim Sum and got some herbal stuff to boil for hubby to drink and surprisingly hubby don't mind them and is drinking it when told.

After everything said and done for me and hubs we went out for lunch so that I could get his prescription for him and fill it since I'm going to have to fill my prescription anyway.

I think we are also done eating out for a long time because we've been eating out everyday (we ate out last night too) almost every meal for the last 5-6 days. I told hubby that we need to eat at home for the next week or so because it does get costly after several meals.

Going on a date

When I first met my hubby let's just say that he was not very experience in going out with girls. It's not that he hasn't had girlfriends before but I think he was not just one of the guys like you would see in the movies. The very first time we went out we went to McDonalds for dinner. How romantic huh and I'll never let him forget that..LOL but now he's so much better than he was when I first went out with him.
Last weekend I was bored staying home and was getting hungry. I suggested to hubby "let's go pak toh [Cantonese] (go on a date)". He said how do you want to go pak toh? Go for dinner, walk around and watch a movie? I don't really like to watch movies in the cinema for some reason therefore we don't really go to the cinema. I told him we'll go for dinner and walk around after that but we'll just skip the movie part. Knowing that I don't really care to go to the cinema he was fine with it. So after dinner at a Mexican restaurant we went shopping because that's a good way to burn some calories. We ended up with these purchases:

Kitchenaid stand mixer
Black and Decker food processor

PSP
We've been wanting the mixer for a long time because it's like one of the best out there and since I like baking so much hubby thinks that it'll go to good use and it's suppose to last forever. I also made a chocolate chip cheesecake the same day when he heard my old cheap hand mixer didn't sound too energize I would say and he suggested that we should get it now. He's so excited about it that he said that I had to make something this weekend. He said that he will operate the mixer just let him help. The mixer is really heavy and I am really looking forward to using it but I'll let hubby play with it first since he's really excited about it.
I've been wanting a food processor for a long time. I use to have a small food processor that my sis's friend gave me when she left the country. It was cheaper and it didn't really work anymore. I was trying to chop up some meat one day and the meat just went round and round and round and wouldn't chop up so I decided that it was time to go in the garbage. I also wanted a food processor because I know that I could use a food processor to make pastry crust if I didn't want to use my hand (at that time I didn't know that we were getting the mixer).
The week before Valentine's day hubby asked if we should get a PSP for OUR Valentine's Day present and I told him that we are not going to get anything for Valentine's Day anyway and why would he want a PSP all of a sudden. He won't have time to play with it during the week. He gave me a bunch of reason some of it was when we travel we can play games, watch movies, go online and we can even load tons of Stanley's picture in there. He said that we could make use of it when we go to Texas (I didn't think my manager would hesitate to approve my vacation). Since he gave me such a sweet surprise on Valentine's Day I told him that I would get that for him for his Valentine's Day present but he actually still insist that it's US. When ever one of us one something we would always use the word US so that we don't feel so bad buying it actually..LOL..I am always a sucker..when he does something nice for me even if it's just a small thing I will let him get away with murder..arghh but oh well at least I am able to use it too.
I better go get ready...I'm hungry now and hubby suggested that we go pak toh again. I told him that we should go McD's because I feel like some fast food and hubby said just like the first time we went out to eat?LOL..I'm also hoping that we don't need to spend more money this week and have explanation for our purchases huh..I guess having explanation for out purchases makes me feel less guilty because we kind off do need it right?*roll eyes*

Time Flies

MIL just got back from her vacation in Texas and she's freaked out about work etc..Went to the office today with hubby and saw here there rushing to key in stuff into the computer. She was talking about not going to work of Friday etc and was asking me about Christmas shopping..I didn't understand why she wasn't going to work on Friday and why was she so concerned about Christmas shopping then it struck me that Christmas is NEXT WEEK. Oh My God!!!I cannot believe that Christmas is next week. I thought it was in two weeks and I had plenty of time to make stuff for Christmas. I cannot believe how quickly time flies. I was initially busy with work and Stanley's school and now looking for another job and planning stuff out for vacation etc it didn't occur to me that Christmas IS around the corner. In no time New Year's would be here and it would be time to make my New Year resolutions. I'm hoping that I'm able to line up a job for next year so that I don't need to stay at home..aiks...*finger cross* let's hope that something will turn out for me soon.
We haven't even set up our Christmas tree..I think we are just going to skip the tree this year. Our first year in our new home we skipped the tree and we decided to put one up last year but this year with Stanley still being so hyper we are not sure if we should put the tree up moreover we are skipping presents this year therefore there won't be any present under the tress after all so what is the point of a tree? We'll see technically we still have some time to put up the tree for a couple of days though and it should be down then.
