Family Time

I've got a gazillion back dated post which I've been planning to post but had not have any time on hand to actually sit in front of the computer to write. I have some spare time today and decided to update a little.

In February the in laws came to visit for a few days but I was swamped with work and was working every single day. I only spend a day with them which was Sunday because it was my off day.

Then I found out that my Mom and Dad was coming to visit me in April! I was pretty excited yet nervous because initially they were suppose come over to visit in August. Our company is launching a new software and we were not suppose to take any days off one week before and one week of the launch. I didn't know about that and had to get approval from my manager. My manager was fine with it but our Market Director would not allow me to take off without pay because she said that I don't have the privileged since I have not accumulated any Vacation Days. I was pretty upset about it but decided to make do with what I could get away with.

So a month before mom and dad came we had to clean the house and rearrange the stuff in the house. We were cleaning and rearranging until the eleventh hour before they arrived! We managed to get about 30 minutes to rest before rushing to the airport to pick them up!

It was a nice and relaxing visit for them I think. We didn't really do much because I am not sure what to do here except shopping. My parents basically chilled the first day they were here as I had to work all day. Then we went shopping every day and ate! The only weekend we had we went over to Austin, TX but didn't get to do much because the weather was not cooperating. It was raining when we left and was raining when we went there. Austin has a lot of places to see and visit but they are all out doors and we don't have an umbrella there plus it consists a lot of working and my dad cannot walk that much because his knee bothers him. I've told him countless times to get that check when he gets home. He thinks that he might need a knee replacement but he needs to consult the specialist and I told him not to wait any longer.

So instead of staying there a few night the next day we decided to head back and just hang out in Houston. We went for Dim Sum on Saturday and also to the Asian grocery stores which was nice because I've not been to the Asian grocery store for a very long time since I started working so I was able to stock up on some of my Asian groceries. My mom also showed me how to make the Chinese Wine for cooking so that I could have some since I love to eat them.

Mom and Dad didn't do a lot of shopping here as they will have to pay to check in their luggage so they tried not to buy too much and bought most of their stuff at my sister's place. They still bought quite a bit here although they tried so hard not to since there were some stuff they didn't see when they were at my sis's place.

I had to go back to work straightaway the moment I send them off because they were launching the new software the next day and technically I was suppose to be at work days before that but since my manager is so great to me they decided to work around me and thankfully I have no problems using the new software.

Life has started to be back to normal apart from the fact that this week I would be super busy catching up and helping at work. I've not even had time to sit around and be sad since my parents left my place. I am really sad inside but in a way I am glad that I've been so busy with work that I don't have time to think about anything. I really miss my parents a lot and I know that I'll always be their little girl :).

Today they flew off from my sister's place for home. I didn't even get a chance to talk to them before they flew off. Since I am working half a day today I have some time at home hence blogging today. I am really sad that they are gone but I know that this is part of life. This is the road I chose and this is the consequences that I have to face. I just hope that I can see them more and spend more time with them as they are both aging.

Converting Waste to Energy

I get really amazed every time when I read interesting information on how people now are trying to save the planet. A great company N-Viro International Corporation develops and licenses its technology to municipalities and private companies. Their patented processes use lime and/or mineral-rich, combustion byproducts to treat, pasteurize, immobilize and convert wastewater sludge and other bio-organic wastes into biomineral agricultural and soil-enrichment products with real market value.

The company and management expect to develop the N-Viro Fuel technology with other power facilities within the United States and anticipates international acceptance for the N-Viro Fuel technology. With the technology that's so widely available converting waste to energy will be a such an awesome thing for our environment.

Recently N-Viro acquired the Volusia County facility located in Daytona, Florida. Our Florida N-Viro facility processes municipal bio solids into N-Viro Soil from many municipalities in the central Florida area. Hopefully we can obtain N-Viro soon here in Texas.

Christmas Giveaway (Back dated post)

This post is long over due. I was supposed to blog about this but I've been so busy that I barely have time to blog or even play on my facebook! ^_^

Gert from My Kitchen Snippets had a Christmas Giveaway obviously during the Christmas season 2009 and she was giving away books (which was the exact same one that I saw in the book store and wanted to get it) and I decided to participate in him hoping that I will win. Since I don't go on the computer all the time I set my phone up to receive emails and one day when I was at work I got the email from Gert that I won the book! I was ecstatic because I really wanted the book. I didn't put much hope that I would actually be picked but I was extremely happy when she asked me for my address to send the book to me!

I would love to thank Gert deep down from my heart for having this giveaway and generously giving away the books! Although at this moment I don't have time to utilize this book but as soon as I have time I will definitely utilize the book to the maximum. Thank you again for the book! xoxo

Meet my new baby girl

Last Sunday hubs had to go on a call for work. When we left the house we saw a dog running around the neighborhood and it did not have a collar or anything on her. When we came back 2 hrs later she was still running around. We decided to pick her up because it was a chilly day. When we tried to pick it up she was running all around to the busy road by our house etc. Then she ran back to the spot we saw her first. We stopped and asked around to see if it belongs to the people living that area and they said that it was not them. Anyway we lost her and we decided to go home to get some meat and look for her. We took our dogs and went for a walk to see if we could find her. Hubby saw her sitting on top of a flower pot :(...Hubs gave her some turkey deli meat and she refused to eat it but she didn't run away because hubs quickly leash her up. Hubs rang the bell of the owner of the flower pot to see if it was their dog. The guy said that is not their dog and he could not keep it because his wife is allergic to dogs and he saw her wandering around the night before too. It was pretty cold the night before! Hubs took her and we went home. I quickly bath her and we fed her some food. She was shivering because I think she was just shock but yet she was so tired too. She took a nap ate some food and she is such a cute little thing. Within a couple of hours she made herself at home. She is just a great gal (so far).
I put her in the boys crate at first because she looked so tired and she was ready for a nap but obviously the others would not let her nap in peace.
Then Uncle Richie wrapped her up with the blanket downstairs and she slept for a little bit. She's such a joy because she is so good but our only problem is she doesn't know how to walk properly when she is leased and she has problem going to the bathroom if we leash her up.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that

I'm been sick sine last week. My boss got sick and one of my co worker got it from her and I was hoping that I would be spared but I got it too. I felt like my throat was hurting last Monday so when I got back the next day I quickly boiled some barley water but I guess it was too late because things started going down hill from then on. I was hanging in there all week long too but on Sunday when I was out and about I felt like crap. I quickly went to the pharmacy to buy more meds and cough drops and head home to take a nap. I feel much better today but my nose is still runny and I'm still coughing. My nose is so red and raw that I think I look like Rudolph the red nose rain deer.

Hubs aunt and uncle was in town this weekend too. They arrived on Friday and we went out to eat that night. I had to work early AM on Saturday and Aunt L was going to take them to Galveston so I didn't go with them. When they came home we met them up for a nice dinner. On Sunday we went to a Flea Market which was near our house and like I mentioned earlier my body felt really horrible. We had quite a bit of fun at the flea market and there was lots to see there but the things there weren't that cheap. There was so many puppies there for sale which I believe some of them might be illegal breeder thus I would never ever buy a puppy from there. Is so heart breaking for me when I saw those puppies but I know that I cannot do anything to help them. I can only help those that does not have a home and I hope that those puppies would be treated with love. We went for lunch with them and then after we stopped at the pharmacy we came home so I could take a nap and hubby was going to watch the foot ball game (Vikings vs Saints).

I feel much better now today but I am just going to take it easy I think I will call in sick because I really don't want anyone else to get sick anymore but I've yet to decide on that.

Hubs parents will be here middle of next month too..(yeah wish me luck on that) and apparently his brother will be getting married in September. I am not sure if I'll be going back for his wedding so far hubby is planning of going back for the brother's wedding. I don't know why I should spend my time and money (when I can take it to go traveling) to be at a place where they like to disrespect other people. But oh well..I've not decided yet I guess I've yet to see what will happen.

I guess apart from working and being sick I've just not have time to do anything for the mean time. There is so many things I would like to share with you but I just need to find time to blog about them.

Hubby's aunt and uncle left this morning. They came over to our house to collect their RV because they parked it at our yard when they were staying in the hotel. After they left I went to the pet place to buy the dogs their food as they are almost out of their food. I text hubby telling him that I bought another brand of food because I'm still not 100% satisfied with California Natural. I would maybe go back to California Natural but this time I was to cut out the grain from their food so after doing some research this morning I decided I will go with Orijen because according to the dog food review Orijen is the best food out there now. My hubby almost chocked when I told him I spend over $80 on their 29lbs pound of dog food..^_^ I know is quite a bit but then I want to see if the grain free ones are better than the rest. I told hubby that hopefully this grain free one will help my baby with his upset tummy. He's puking less now compared to when he was on Nutro or Canidae but he's put several time still and supposedly he's not suppose to be puking at all. So I'll see how this one goes.

My day off

I've not been blogging for quite some time. I have every intention to blog anything and everything but I'm just not good at time management I guess. Every since I've started working what ever time I have I do other things except blog. I even don't have time to go onto my facebook like I used to be which reminds me my facebook was hacked and that piss the heck out of me *^%*#...I wonder why people has such free time to hack other people's account and send stupid things to others.

Anyway I am trying to maximize my time off today and I thought that I would put some time away to update my blog because I miss blogging and I miss ranting on my own blog!

I managed to go for a nice lunch with Uncle Richie to our usual Vietnamese restaurant by our house for a nice bowl of warm Pho on this cold rainy day! When I came home I vacuum the upstairs and I just got done vacuuming downstairs and mopping the floor. I'm satisfied because nothing irk me than a dirty floor! I'm not sure what I will do next but I wanna update my blog before I start with the next chores.

The last few times when I had day off I would do some housework and go shopping by the time I come home I'm rushing to make dinner or get ready to go out for dinner hence no blogging. Last Friday I went to the mall and was leaving the mall to go to my next shopping destination to find out that I had a flat! I was not too happy about it while I was trying to reach the hub a nice guy stopped and just offered to change my tire. I was hesitant but if I don't accept the offer I'll be stuck there since hubby didn't answer my phone call the first time I called him (I didn't call Uncle Richie which he would have came to my rescue because I knew he was at a meeting). I figure I was at the mall parking lot and there was a lot of people there I was thinking/hoping that he would not do anything to me. Anyway I think I should not doubt people so much because there is still great people in this earth. After the nice guy changed my tires I met up with the hubs to let him check the tires and go searching for some new tires and rims. I didn't get them changed the same day itself because we were waiting and looking for bigger tires and rims. I had to drive with the spare to work the next few days and I felt like I was driving and old noisy truck/vehicle.

We got the new tires and rims on Monday and hubby put it on. The next day we were going out for dinner with Uncle Richie and Aunt L to find out that the tires was rubbing!I don't like that and that cannot happen so hubby called the tire place and I had to go over there to get a different set of tires which was obviously a lot more. In conclusion there goes my next designer bag. sigh!Hopefully the tires will last me!

Anyway my days off are normally Friday and Sunday. I normally take the opportunity on Friday to get some "ME" time and do what I want to do and do things that I know hubby would not do with me. On Sunday I try and do stuff with hubby whether we are out and about or at home.

Another off topic is work. I am enjoying work although work is getting more and more challenging. I am dealing with clients directly more and more which is not a bad thing but some people can be really difficult.

I also miss cooking and baking. Every since I started working I've not really been cooking. We've been eating out a ton and I've only been able to cook several times. I made lasagna one day and the next day I made vegetable soup. This week I managed to make two dinner both with crock pot. The first time I made a pork roast and the other day I made some garlic chicken which didn't taste that good. When my schedule is fix I'm hoping to be able to bake and cook more.

Stay tune for my birthday presents and some other back dated post. I hope everyone is enjoying their brand new year and hopefully everything is going smooth..Cheers :)

I know I've been MIA a long time and I have a ton of back dated post but I promise once I have my set schedule for work I will update more.I'm so busy with my new job and without a set schedule it messes me up because I like to plan and do things as schedule so now I'm kind off just floating around.

However I am still able to blog hop and visit other blogs thanks to my the great technology like my phone and having internet on my phone!

I miss blogging and will be back real soon!Mean time I wish everyone had a great 2009 and will have a better time this coming year!

Although many thing happened to me in the year 2009 but I take those challenges as a lesson and hope that it will just get better from than on and I know that it will.I hope that no one else has to go through the same situations I've been through but I cannot control them anyhow I've just glad that I'm still healthy and happy and will be this way always.May the new year bring me and everyone else a great start and will only get better.
