Apple Cake

I made an apple cake two Saturdays ago because we had some apples left that I bought and never ate it. I took some to work for some nice co workers and hubby ate them all. Hubby loves it that he ate it none stop ever after I was done baking. I almost didn't have enough to take it to work for my co workers. This recipe is a good way to get ride of apples that's not fresh and getting soft.

Apple or Pear Cake
CAKE
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs , beaten
3/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
4 or more big apples or pears (if you want to be able to bite/taste the apples cube it bigger)

TOPPING

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup milk

1/4 lb butter

Cake:.

Mix all cake ingredients by hand in order given.

Pour in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan or springform pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes and remove.

Topping:.

In saucepan mix all ingredients and bring to a slow boil for 3 minutes.

Pour over cake and return to oven for 4 minutes.

No mixer or tons of dishes needed..Love yummy yet simple recipes.

that looks quite easy to bake. Maybe I should try it. I have some aged apples in my fridge anyway. Thanks for sharing.
